Generative AI Technology (GAIT):
Green Zone: GAIT use permitted within academic integrity guidelines
For this assessment, in addition to spelling/grammar checkers and referencing software, students are permitted to use generative artificial intelligence tools (GAITs, e.g., ChatGPT) to:
? Provide a key definition (with attribution)
? Summarise and paraphrase academic texts for research
? Research general concepts
If students use text produced by GAITs in their final submission, it must be properly attributed by (a) being placed in quotation marks and (b) including an in-text citation and reference to the software used. If the text is not properly attributed, it constitutes and will be treated as a breach of academic integrity. The referencing system here is recommended.

? Generate writing used in their final submission (except fully attributed key definitions as permitted above).
? Generate definitions of key terms except where fully attributed.
Any of these actions will constitute and be treated as a breach of academic integrity.
It remains students’ responsibility to ensure any use of generative AI is within the requirements of academic integrity. As penalties apply for integrity breaches, please contact your convener before submitting your task if you are unsure if any particular practice is acceptable.
