Module Learning Outcomes Assessed:
1. Interpret and apply the legislative requirements of EIA and SIA.
2. Critically evaluate the methods used in predicting social and environmental impacts.
3. Assess the quality and the validity/uncertainty of environmental data in decision making.
Task and Mark distribution:
You will be assigned one of the development case studies below and for that given development: Provide an overview of the policy and legislative requirements for S&EIA. (20%) What data would be needed, how would you go about collecting it and what limitations woi be expected. (40%) Identify negative impacts for both construction and operation of the facility being develo and prepare a schedule of mitigation relevant to one of the most significant impact topics for( the development (40%).
