Technology Analysis: A brief history of a Digital Technology
In this technology analysis, you are required to present, by way of a timeline, a brief history of a key digital transformation technology. Please select your technology from the Forbes Top 10 Digital Transformation Trends for 2020 list which includes contemporary digital business technologies such as; 5G, WiFi, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotic Process Automation, Connected Vehicles, Autonomous Drones, Smart Cities, and Everything-as-a-Service.
Your timeline start year depends on the type of technology you choose and should end at the current date. You are required to include as many key developments as you can find from your research. This should include for example, technology releases, usage by companies, significant events, publications, research etc. You are required to demonstrate a good understanding of your chosen technology. Your timeline should contain at least 20 stories.
You are to complete your timeline using tiki-toki.com, an online tool designed especially for developing timelines*. It allows you to custom design a timeline, with “stories” used to describe each timeline event. Each story comprises a textual description, and they can also include links, images, videos etc. You need to include at least one of each of the following: video, external image, web link. You need to sign up for a free tiki-toki account. Please do not pay for an account with higher functionality. Once completed, you need to share the URL of your timeline with the lecturer via Moodle.
You will be assessed on the following criteria:
1. Key events (stories) included, demonstrating a good understanding of the technology (20%) ?
2. Inclusion of a broad cross-section of historical events (stories) (20%) ?
3. At least 20 stories included. At least one example of each type of media file included ?(20%) ?
4. Ability to use the tiki-toki application to its maximum potential (20%) ?
5. Grammar/English (20%)
