Your task
As a group, your first task is to design and develop a new learning tool that targets KBS students. Individually, your second task is to reflect on the outcome of your collaborative work by incorporating theories and concepts covered in weeks 1 – 5.
Assessment Description
In this assignment, you will be given an opportunity to collaboratively work with your peers on an innovative project to explore the world of innovation and entrepreneurship. This will enable you to gain an in-depth understanding of the evolution of industries and economies and the roles of entrepreneurs in today’s business world.
Assessment Instructions
Millennials and Gen Z require a learning environment that is multi-media centric and incorporates advanced technologies. There are two (2) options to choose from for your project:
Moodle environment
Your learning tool can be an add-on to the current Moodle learning platform. This option will be technology-based which incorporates the medium that this generation is known for (Eckleberry-Hunt & Tucciarone 2011).
Classroom environment
Your learning tool can be delivered in the classroom by the facilitator in a group environment. This option incorporates the opportunity for group work that is another distinctive feature of this generation (Kerins & Schreck 2009).
The learning tool can be developed for any subject or topic delivered at KBS, but it must be designed to enhance the learning process of students. Examples of learning tools include; roleplays, Kahoot, games, simulations, flash cards and many more. Remember that everyone learns differently: some learn by listening, some by seeing and others by doing. Successful learning tools, ideally, should engage all of these learning styles.
During week 5, you will be given in-class time to form groups and to deliberate on the option that you collectively prefer to work on in the group activity. Based on your group discussions, it is recommended that you were to conduct preliminary research individually before participating in the group activity during week 7.
During week 7, your group will be given 60 – 75 minutes (depending on the size of the class) to collaborate on the details of your project. You are permitted (an encouraged) to develop a prototype of the learning tool that can include any visuals or props. At the end of the time frame, each group will give a 10-minute presentation on their learning tool (the name of the tool, the intended use and application, which learning outcomes it will target, and so on).
Innovation and creativity will be rewarded. Once all the presentations are given, your workshop facilitator and classmates will anonymously judge the viability of your project by completing the peer review form (please refer to the template which is located under Assessments Table Assessment 2 Peer Review Form). Your facilitator will also mark each group on their presentation as well as their idea.
During week 8, you are required to individually prepare and submit an 800-word reflective summary in which you must reflect on the group activity held during week 7. In this summary you are to provide a well-detailed observations and insights that you have gathered from this group activity. More specifically you are to consider the creative process that your group took and how it can impact you in the future.
