Purpose:
• To explore the effects of socio-political and cultural determinants of health and apply relevant knowledge to enhance the of health of individuals, whanau/family, organisations and communities.
• To examine the concepts of health promotion, health prevention, injury and primary health in relation to the needs of individuals, whanau/family, organisations and communities.
• To examine the governance structure, policy, legislation and fiscal influences of health care services Aotearoa/New Zealand.
• To critique Ministry of health strategies, guidelines ad initiatives that impact on individual groups within society.
• To engage in analytical and inquiry processes to develop as community and/or organizational healthcare promotion professionals.

In this presentation you will analyse healthcare legislation, policies and funding that impact on healthcare strategies (long term approaches and action plans) and then explain to the audience, how successful your chosen Aotearoa/New Zealand health strategy has been and why.
Your presentation could be structured as follows:
1. Introduction (LO 4,5)
a. An overview of relevant healthcare legislation and policies.
b. Your chosen healthcare strategy, including your reason/s for choosing the strategy.
2. Analysis of the relevant legislation and policies that support your chosen healthcare

4. Analysis of funding and financial support for your chosen healthcare strategy.
