The Task In this assignment, you are required to act as the business analyst working for the organisation in the case study. You have been asked to do the following:
1. Identify all key problems. For each problem identified, you are required to provide a brief explanation. Pick out a problem that you consider the most problematic, and discuss in detail why that problem needs to be addressed and how it should be treated, and why? In discussing the treatment of the problem, you are required to apply Russel Ackoff (2011) framework ‘The 4 Different Ways of Solving a Problem’ by clicking on the following link: http://www.human-current.com/blog/2016/1/22/drrussell-ackoff-design-is-the- answer
2. State whether the problems you have identified in 1 are Hard or Soft system problems. You need to describe Hard and Soft problems, and then attempt to analyse the problems you have found. You need to explain why you have made your decisions. You are expected to use quality references to describe and classify Hard and Soft systems problems.
3. Identify key stakeholders and problem owners. You are expected to use relevant stakeholder analysis frameworks/models in conducting your analysis. Further, your arguments and analysis should be grounded in the literature.
4. List possible models, tools and techniques that can be used to analyse the current system. Critique each of the models, tools and techniques used in addressing the problems in the case study. Note: the emphasis is on critiquing the methods, not on giving examples of the methods. As part of this section, consider both Object INF30003 Sem 1 2022 Assignment 1: Business Problem Identification Page 2 Oriented and Structured approaches. 5. Draw a Rich picture bringing all the components together, identified in 1 –3.
