Context
Assessment 2A Resource Analysis involves reading widely, researching a topic and preparing a plan for the academic report you will write for Assessment 2B. The report will draw on the findings in your Resource Analysis to discuss a communication problem in business and recommend a solution. Choice of topic
Consider the quote below and choose one (1) of the two topics for your resource analysis. Use your research skills to gather the resources you need to create a PLAN for your report. To provide focus for your research, consider using your own organisation where you work, an existing organisation, or one that you have created.

Topic 1
With increasing globalisation and a largely millennial workforce, one of the most pressing internal communication challenges that companies face is reaching and engaging with their employees.

Instructions
1. Locate at least four (4) resources:
Two (2) reliable academic resources, namely peer-reviewed academic journals from the library databases, that will be useful for completing the Assessment 2B report.
Two (2) other types of resources such as books, ebooks, YouTube, conference proceedings, film, television, radio, podcast, websites, and social media.
2. Follow the suggested format provided in preparing your assessment and review the Learning Rubric below as your guide to how your assessment task will be marked. Please be sure to check this rubric very carefully before submission.
Organise your resources and relevant information into the PLAN in the appropriate sections. It will guide you in writing your report for Assessment 2B.

For each resource – state the author and year:
• Prepare a brief summary of main points, justifying why it is relevant to your report.
You should refer to this when you decide the themes to include in the discussion section.
Note: You must insert the full reference for each at the end of your plan in ‘Reference List’.
1.0 Introduction (on next page)
Include enough information to set the scene and introduce the extent of the topic to the reader, your chief executive officer. You should draft a brief introduction here that you will revise for the final report.

2.0 Discussion
This is where you present and discuss the findings of your research. Study the summaries of each resource. Bring together (synthesise) similar or different ideas from more than one source under each theme. Make sure you keep track of your resources by inserting in-text citations throughout your plan.

3.0 Conclusion

Recommendations provide advice on what to do next (in the future). Outline what types of improvements will be addressed in your report recommendations (but do not give specific recommendations).
Reference List
Write a complete reference for each resource you have included in your plan. Compile a reference list using APA 6th ed. style.

Note: When you develop your report for Assessment 2B, you will add the headings ‘Table of Contents’ and ‘Executive Summary’ after the Title Page.
Uploading your assessment
1. Ensure you have a title page with ALL the information required.
2. Submit a ‘Word’ document only. A pdf file is not acceptable.
3. Upload your assessment to Turnitin first (compulsory) to self-check the similar areas of text found in your submission.
Hint: Submit to Turnitin at least one day before the due date. This will allow time to revise your assessment to enhance its quality, check the accuracy of your referencing, correct any other grammatical and spelling mistakes and avoid plagiarism before you submit.
4. Upload both your assessment and Turnitin similarity report into the Assessments section of the learning portal using the submission link for Assessment 2A- Resource Analysis. Important: If you upload to Turnitin only, your facilitator cannot see your assessment in the grading area, and it therefore cannot be graded.
5. Use Google Chrome or Firefox browser to upload. Safari browser often does not work.
