The Assignment title and description is under:
The risk of flying at the edge of safety envelope
An aerodynamic stall happens when the wing stops producing sufficient lift to support the aircraft weight. Lift is the aerodynamic force that enables aircraft to fly. It is the reaction of the air to the mass of the aeroplane. The stall is caused by detachment of the boundary layer from the upper surface of the wing. The airflow separated from the surface stops generating lift.Various factors including the weight of the aircraft, flaps, and icing can promote stall.
In this project, you will assess the potential risk associated with compromised flight safety due to approaching stall.
Your main tasks include:
(a) carrying out a comprehensive literature review related to aerodynamic stall
(b) obtaining and analysing available data regarding aircraft accidents caused by stall from Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) database and other safety agencies’ records, such as National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) from the USA
(c) determine the current safety trends in the air transport industry associated with aerodynamic stall
(d) develop a prediction model to identify flight stages most susceptible to stalling risk
Personal Notes:
It should stay more on engineering side rather than theoretical
I will send the draft by tomorrow, please follow that too.
