Assessment Task
Write a 300 words discussion forum post critically analysing a topic given to you by the Learning Facilitator by Week 1. This discussion forum post forms the basis for Assessment 2 Discussion Forum Report due at the end of Module 4.2.

Context
Business communication can either be internal, within an organization, or external, between organizations. It can also be between existing and potential customers. This assessment gives you the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in selected business communication methods, including an examination of the theoretical underpinnings of communication in an organization.
This assessment has been designed to:
• Appraise your ability to academically research and evaluate characteristics of effective business communication.
• Apply critical thinking skills utilizing supporting evidence to justify arguments.
• You expected to demonstrate practical understanding of application of business communication skills and their importance in professional development.
Instructions
1. Check your Announcements. A selected topic will be posted on to your Announcement section in Blackboard by your Learning Facilitator.
2. Investigate the topic chosen by the facilitator and research what makes it effective.
3. Write a 300 words discussion forum post critically analysing specific characteristics of the topic. Please provide examples to back up your statements.
4. Please consider the following key points when writing the discussion forum post:
• Your post should analyse the topic.
• Consider using one or more specific examples to add value to your post.
• Include sources and evidence.
• You are required to include reference to literature. Use at least 2 in-text citations per post. Please include a reference list.
5. Submit your 300-word post into Assessment 2_1st Post_300 words only discussion forum available in the Initial Assessment Folder in MGT502: Business Communication.
6. Please note that this discussion forum post forms the basis for Assessment 2 due at the end of Module 4.2. Please refer to MGT502_Assessment 2_Brief for more information about Assessment 2.
